Vernons trip

Hey guys thinking about doing a trip to the vernons soon anyone have any tips on gear , spots and whatever else I should before heading out cheers :fishing:

Northern island has a great little creek system, get in at high tide and fish it for jacks, small groper, trevs ... probably a few muddies in there but I never dropped a pot. Also some blue holes on the island full of queenies and trevs. Go when it is calm.

Not an expert on the region but i know the tide absolutely roars through that region gus

Sure does, best fished on neaps for safety reasons.

I like exploring area on spring lows because you can see all the reefs that are going to get you. On a mid low neap you might end up over one of those reefs that have just 200mm over them. But I might be alone on that sentiment.

Yes, tough choice, as it fishes well on springs, but there is so much rip, if the wind comes up it gets nasty.

Definitely a stranding issue if you don't watch the tide in those Blue Holes.
