Yellow Waters weekender
Took the family for a run to Cooinda on the weekend. Campground was chockas but i guess that's to be expected during schools holidays. The unexpected surprise however was the lack of boats on YW. Think there was 2 of us on the Friday arvo and only 4 or 5 on the water on Saturday. Water is still quite high and the fish were a bit hard to come by. Very little action around 3 Ways but we found a weed bed at the other end on the bong that had a heap of little barra just mooching about as they do. Easily 200+ fish along a 100mt stretch. Generally not interested in our lures but occasionally one would have a crack so ended up with probably a dozen odd rats and a couple of little Toga on some weedless frogs.
A small but aggressive bite window of about 30 minutes on the Friday arvo saw some better fish come on and me and the missus managed one each and jumped off another 3 or 4. Lost a few trying to pass them onto my youngest as well. He's got the pump bit sorted, just got to work on the wind...... Still a cracker weekend and a pleasure nearly having the place to ourselves (not counting the tour boats of course.....)

Haha, yeah, we were hunting out the shade for a while there. It was actually pretty warm and steamy on the water for the middle of the Dry.Matt Flynn wrote:cracker report, and there's that harsh weather again
Making the most of it but, officially take up residence in your country later this year Matt. Fairly sure I won't have to worry about the heat ever again.............

Beer will be cold when you get here, and gives me a reason to get the hay out of the boat

Sounds good to me, we get there late November, thought it best to get a couple of months of Summer under our belt first up just to help ease into it ...........
