Odd thing about Adani and greenies; they are totally against Adani, saying that the mining would be detrimental to the GBR and land clearing the area, yet not a whisper from them regards farmers clearing land.

Adani means jobs and royalties for the Govt, farmers are private and not much jobwise, nor royalties for the Govt.

Adani means jobs and royalties for the Govt
Yep, and they do need jobs out that way. But if the GBR is in fact dying because of coal burning etc, and the evidence strongly suggests it is starting to die, then Adani and projects like it are a mug's game.

Need a new economic system to deal with the new facts of life.

The GBR employs many more people than what Adani will. Very short sighted of the government. The benefits of a healthy reef grossly outweigh the benefits of a dirty coal mine.
