East pt spot map

Post by goldfish »

These spots might be worth a crack but theyre better around sept oct for barra. If you can't be bothered going to a really good spot, or just want to get out of the house and give it a go for a couple of hours...

Different areas fish better depending on wind direction and certain stages of the tide ... can't give away all the secrets you'll have to suss that bit out for yourself. :D

Just watch the incoming on big springs particularly on the oyster rock area otherwise you'll be swimming back in. Quite often they come on the chew right as you need to leave. Also beware of decent deep bits in between the rocks as one Forum member found out the hard way a lifeproof case is a worthwhile investment when rockhopping.

We used to fish these areas at night LB but unsure if you'd even be allowed to ride the pushie in there nowadays, probably not. :banghead: ...

They can't stop u taking a small tinny around there to access the spots though ... :fu:

Hope this gets a few of you onto possibly your first legal barra or nice jack, a feed of decent chromies if you're lucky or a good dust up on one of our unstoppable pelagics if you send out a baloon rigged livie or pillie. Good luck, a day spent thinking about it is a day wasted...remember you've got to be in it to win it people..!!!

Thanks goldfish, that is generous indeed. I used to live in Nth QLD but recently moved up to Darwin so this is very useful for me!
