Also known as "oceanic silver tips" so as not to be confused with the common white tip reef sharks that are abundant in Oz. They are mainly found in the cobalt blue oceans.

Have never heard of them in inshore waters off Oz or inside the Great Barrier Reef, but I have encountered them outside the GBR and off Pacific Islands.
