Tackle World's Shane Compain has done it again, won the NT's Big Three ... the 2017 Barra Klash, Barra Nationals and Barra Classic.

He was fishing with different teams too ...

A true phenomenon.

Haven't seen the final breakdown of fish size and numbers but if you use the total points registered for these top 10 teams it would equate to circa 180 mid 70cm or circa 1000 legal (55cm) barra. A good improvement post a decent wet.

For comparison; obviously the 2011 comp was a ball tearer on the back of the big wet and the solid wets the couple of years prior. 2012 was also quite good with 1250 odd fish registered (from memory). But 2013 was an absolute stinker, I think it was the worst on record with under 300 fish registered. That was a tough week.

Based on my simplistic view, fish stocks take longer to build than to decrease or lose. It's a bit like fitness; run for 6 months and finally get fit, then go on holidays for 2 weeks and overindulge and it's back to square one! Consistency is the key, fluctuation our enemy.

Plenty of big fat fish like this 116 which was the biggest of the comp :)
We caught maybe 150 rats over the 5 days all under 40cm each time we caught one we would swear it would be over they were like mini footballs.
9 meterys for memory we got 2 of them 100 and a 116
Lots of good healthy fat fish 65-85 caught.
