Landbased fishing update

Post by Dreamrider- »

Hi all,

Long time reader, occasional contributor.

Have been doing a lot of fishing these past few months trying to make the most of the Darwin life while I can.

I'm mainly a landbased fisherman and am very tide specific so I go fishing during the windows of opportunities at various spots around Darwin or closer to home in the northern suburbs. This could be from 1 - 2.5 hours. Wish i owned a boat but given financial constraints I've never had a chance to, so I try make the most on land.

Back a few years ago I was always a hit and miss when it came to fishing but recently my catch rates have increased dramatically.

I do a bit of live baiting but more recently I've started to use lures, especially hardbodies a lot more.

Here's a few photos of my fishing I've done the past few months

Ps. Also friends have taken me out to go for jewfish 2 weeks ago and I finally got my first metery jewfish! 8)

Well done mate .I land based for my first 10 years up here. You work it out pretty quickly but keep your spots to yourself or they get over fished very quickly
