I was meant to jump in Clint's boat, but I'm working Saturday. Good luck all, I reckon you'll raise a few!

Thanks to Deepblack for giving me the opportunity to fish with him over the weekend. I normally fish Fly so this was a great chance to get a great insight into "Dark Side" billfishing.

I will let Brad fill in the details of winners and the numbers of fish caught but the perfect tides coupled with near perfect conditions made for a great time out on the water with good numbers of billfish raised. The friendly (and sometimes not so friendly) banter on the radio kept everyone amused
GREEN 43
Those that were there would get it :lolpoint:

AS for us, we went 23-9-5 on the first day including a small black. We had a quadruple hook-up (only two in the boat) and managed to blow all four fish. Quarter of an hour later we managed a double hookup and landed them both which made up for our previous losses.
Second day started well with a quick Sail but three missed hook-ups in quick succession and then couldn't find the fish again. We finished the day at 4-4-1.

Thanks to Brad for organizing this comp. It was great to see the crews rising to the challenge of those things that are important in life......not trophies or glory but......BEER

Tell me about it. Could have gone on a mates boat, but had to work Saturday. They did alright, even with two green deckies, including a triple hookup with all three landed. Oh well, time to dust off the teasers and lose my billfish virginity.

Well done to all who went in the comp. Sounds like it was a perfect weekend. They even cleaned up on reefies and squid after the sun went down.

First of all I would like to thank everyone that came. You guys and girls made it great time.
So as for numbers well I think a lot of people will be amazed. 158 raised 84 hooked 61 landed two of witch were marlin. With 14 teams fishing. Not bad for a bunch of drunks.

Winning team The Gunslinger 23/16/12 with one marlin( my team )
Second was deepblack 27/13/6 with one marlin Satisfaction 21/11/7 (Clint) St. Nuc 15/11/7 (rumluck)
The list goes on but not going to put all teams numbers up.

Just would like thank everyone again. The best fun comp I've ever fish in thank you.

Team gunslinger 12 everyone else not enough

Great comp Brad, if it's on again next year you can count me in! As one of the loose units on Black Label we tagged 4 and dropped plenty which can be expected with a bunch of newbies on hand. The great news is that over 100 fish from 2 weekends have been tagged and not one recapture so the numbers are thick. Great to meet you all.

Anyone keen for a day trip this coming Monday? I'm keen to get my beast back out there again, falling off the springs it should be OK even just to see if they are still biting.
