Re: Missing a 737 anybody?
I guess it depends on where the rubbish pile is and whose plane is missing, Matt.
I guessed it to be a 737 but 777s also have 2 engines.
And who's missing a 777? Flight 370?
The photo is a google earth shot of river in a place called Convict Island in southern hemisphere in eastern Indian Ocean..
Been there a while judging by the discoloration on the leading edge and top of wings along with some of the starboard tail section missing.

I think it is in flight, and the image is distorted.

Re: Missing a 737 anybody?
Yep. You're right Matt.
Is a aircraft in flight heading for Rocky airport.
Satellite camera caught it in one of those photos that you'd never be able to arrange yourself.
I was zoomed in close looking along the bank of Fitzroy for access above the barrage and suddenly there's this aircraft. Bit of a start at first sight of it.
See attached as its lined up with Rocky airport and coming in low across the river well out from runway. Circle at top of image.
FYI
Convict Island was a name used by high-brow pommie society in 1800s when referring to Australia. It was still being used 1n 1920s.
Apart from being in SW Pacific (East coast), Aus is also in the SE Indian (west coast). Hence the 370 connection.
Well spotted.
