What you find 10km deep
Don't read this if you are depressed, or have kids, or like the idea of eating clean seafood ... https://www.theguardian.com/environment ... ana-trench

Doesn't bode well for the future of our kids and grandkids does it. Sadly the almighty dollar will always outweigh the responsibility of care to our ecosystems. Won't be until they are destroyed that some people will realise that our food doesn't just come from the shops.

Aye, and they knew PCBs were bad in the 1930s.
Monsanto knew they were really bad in the 1960s, but kept on making them. Which might give some idea what to expect if Monsanto discovers its GM products are bad.
The deception involved is mind boggling ... http://malibuunites.com/the-history-of-pcbs/
Knowledge is king, can't expect govt or business to do the right thing.
Good news is that the PCB load in the environment has been steadily falling.

It's amazing to think that billions of these beads can just get "lost" from the manufacturing process every year.
Have you seen that Bear Grylls show on the island, it's like survivor except there are no games and they actually have to survive with little intervention. Anyway the amount of rubbish, mostly plastics that is on the beaches in this pristine location is amazing. Thousands of bottles, containers, ropes and nets.
