Vic River?

Post by Jimmyd »

G'day fellow fishos,

Looking at heading to the Vic in a couple of weeks, just seeing if anyone has had any luck there this year?

The Vic had the best early rain it has had in years, and with this new rain system likely to track across its catchment, it should really fire this year. The timing will depend on how the rain pans out, but with the Vic you have to get in early for run-off fishing, as the catchment drains fast. After the run-off neap tides are best for the Vic.

Have heard several boats doing OK down the Vic in recent weeks. Even at Boat Ramp.
Some fishing all day for donuts until the tide changed.

Best part this year so far about the Vic is the river levels at Coolibah Stn. Its been up over the magic mark (6+ish metres)many sustained times already this season (which is height at the waterfall ) And that means fish traffic can head Upstream. In recent years it either didnt get there or was just a brief event.

Cheers for the info guys. We'll try our luck I guess and see what we end up with but I'll be keeping an eye on the weather and the tides and hopefully get some fish in the boat!
