hi, thinking of heading out to south alligator this weekend, any reports of how its fishing would be much appreciated.
also chasing some help on how to navigate the river.

Mud build up at ramp again need at least half tide.

Know some guys went down last week end big tides stuck on a mud bar for four hours and the y know the river pretty well. make sure your first couple are trips on an incoming tide till you get a good track.
the bars are moving a bit as the mud is getting pushed down i'm told.
try and follow a local down if you can normally they don't mind if you ask.

It can be a hard river to work out. Do your travel on the incoming because you will probably hit a mud bar. It will use more fuel but makes it easier to lift off again when the tide rises. If (when) you get stuck on a dropping tide, you are there for hours.
