Fishing times

Post by jsttry »

Looking to take the kids out again for some more land based fishing and interested to know what's best for land based fishing around Darwin, tides or lunar?

We went to the Elizabeth River Jetty 3 times last week on the evening high tides between 5-7pm and caught 2-4 each time.

Are fishing the high tides most common or do people also consider the moon cycles?

With a long weekend another trip may be on the cards however the tides are a lot later at night so do I waste my time with the kids or give it a crack?

I would suggest fishing the last hour of the runout and the first hour of the run in. Tide is everything here. Good places to take kids land based include Mandorah Jetty, Fishermans Wharf (must buy fish and chips) and that jetty at Elisabeth.
Its not a crisis unless there is blood around.
If there is blood around......well its a police matter...

In general, the big tides are best. Mandorah is the go in my opinion!

So don't worry too much about the moon then, just aim for the tides.

Well they are related but bait fishing with kids yup just the tides. Bigger is better but any movement will work.
