Friend wants to drive a 5 year old Toyota 2WD from Darwin to Gove. Would you need a snorkel or should be good this time of the year without a snorkel.
Any road condition reports from recent trips would help.

Ive only driven there twice both later in the dry. Given the poor wet season, i think it would be low levels. Maybe give the local cops a call

If you are on face book, hit up the above group, has up to date reports etc.
Good place to ask questions to those who drive it regularly.
I did just watch a video that poped up in my newsfeed yesterday but for the life of me I can't find it. But going off that, (it was only a week old) I wouldn't. He was driving through rain, and I'm guessing the rivers were up a little more that usual. But even so I wouldn't be keen. Don't know if the crossings completely dry out or not. Maybe late in the season it might be ok

You can do it with out a problem now mate as there are bridges across the crossings.

Absolutely, without a problem, there is only one water crossing now which is about 200 deep.

The only thing that would stop you would be the tyres. Make sure they have a couple of spares. Not sure if 2wd tyres would be able to handle it if the track is rough
