Cheap Chinese tucker

Post by Matt Flynn »

Look at the labels, a lot of cheap food in Australian supermarkets comes from China, would you eat it after reading this? ... http://www.theguardian.com/environment/ ... -pollution

Even tinned smoked oysters come from China now ...

Thanks to our own grubby government, we have useless food labels like "Made from imported and local ingredients" and "NZ product" that actually comes from other countries.

It's a jungle out there :D

after i got caught by the nannas berries poop fight, i decided to never again knowingly buy food from china.
the nannas factory in Lisarow was a great source of 2nds (food that wasnt the right look) and they always used aussie produce (30 years ago anyway)

imagine how shocked i was to see the great aussie brand Golden Circle now uses overseas fruit - this was a result of the failure of the pineapple crops some years ago

so now i go over the label with a fine toothed comb. its amazing how much stuff is from overseas.
the sooner the better when it comes to truth in labeling
