Nightmare fish

Post by Matt Flynn »

Tiny and terrible ... http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-04-08/a ... atenews_nt

Caught one years ago on a mothership, we put it in a jar and tightened the lid good and tight, joking that it might come alive after we all went to sleep and escape into the nearest orifice.

bl..dy scary looking thing. Have caught one at the mouth of Sampan and another at Coonawarra creek. They're probably quite well distributed?

Have caught plenty of them over the years and never knew what i was looking at. The shrimp goby is very abundant when lifting rocks looking for crabs. Have caught the toothy ones at san pan also.

Have caught hundreds of these trolling the mouth of sampan, was real bad earlier this year just before the low tide change, was impossible to troll for more than 20mt before filling the trebles, once the tide started to come in they disapeared.
