Mandorah tips

Post by Landbased fisho »

Can somebody please give me some advice on fishing at Mandorah I've been there a couple times with some mates and caught nothing only hooked up a couple times and that was at night. Would like to know best times, tides and baits and also rigs if that helps.

Cheers

Haven't been there in a while.
But when I did go, live bait was always the go. take a few jigs and a throw net. Try getting live sardines, mullet, squid. I used to do better on neap tides, generally when there was a tide change late in the arvo. Have some baits on a float and some down the bottom.
While the baits are out, always worth throwing spinners around.
I have heard of a couple of Jewies been caught at night there but I've only gotten sharks once its dark.

Keep your hook size fairly small and change your liveys pretty regular I usually run a floating rìg and do pretty well towards the end of neap tides
