Where have the Billfish reports gone?

Post by CCO625 »

Just wondering if anyone has been seeing, raising or catching any Billfish out of Darwin this year as i haven't seen many reports on here or elsewhere.Even catches off of Dundee seem to have stopped?
No fish or no one fishing?

first post and not a positive one. I'm new to town and headed to North Gutter last weekend and trolled over the low and it was so murky out there they'd struggle to see you're spread i reckon. bait was scattered and not balled up at all, a few schools of small tuna no more than 4kg. not a real big effort for the first trip out with maybe 3 hours of searching. wind was much stronger out there, got to 20 knots on the trip home but at least it was behind me.

From what i have read this is where i should be looking but. i guess smaller tides are way more desirable with no wind to clear it up?

Yep the "Dog Leg"@ Nth Gutter............You'll see what I mean if you look at the chart a rising tide brings bait up around that area.
