Post by Matt Flynn »

FISH FINDER 11th edition is out ... now with a detailed bathymetric map of Darwin Harbour sea floor with Lat Long lines provided in WGS84.

Great new Mackay and Townsville creek coverage also, and for remote FNQ fans a Staaten River map with info provided by a former Staaten fishing guide.

Also a chance to win a Lowrance HDS9. And much more!

Out now in Darwin, or get one at http://www.fishfinderbooks.com/product_ ... cts_id=645

To be released elsewhere soon.

Bring him on I say. I don't see him catching such fine specimens such as my last catfishh! :P

Ps can I have his boat and sounder for christmas. Then I might be able to fish Papua New Guinea as well! 8)

Spot on Matt, but, the rest of us actually work for a living. :lolpoint:
" YOUTH is a GIFT "
"AGE is an ART "
"Doesn't mean you get any smarter..just wrinkled and cracked".

"No angler watches nature in a passive way...He enters into its very existence." (John Bailey...Reflections on a Waters Edge)

"Govern a Family as you would catch a small fish....Very Gently." (Chinese Proverb)

"Only those become weary of angling who bring nothing to it but the idea of catching fish." (Rafael Sabatini...1857-1950)

I pray that one day God sends me a fish so big that, when talking of it...I have no reason to lie.

Hi Matt

Issue 11 is a good read as usual.

re Staaten River article.

Got a message from the owners that the Qld Govt has closed the camping and cabin accommodation on the Staaten until ..... (further notice). Pretty vague.

Access by boat via Karumba (120km one way) still ok.

Staaten was one of "Wild Rivers" projects a couple of years ago. It also has the Staaten River National Park upstream so it may be something to do with the Dept Environment and Heritage.

Our trip this year cancelled so will look further afield. Maybe Karumba or Weipa.
Regards

OK to have a zillion cattle trudging around Dinah Island but not a few campers eh? Sounds like a very poor decision. That was a very exciting remote camp for touring fishos, gave access to Staaten and some other remote Cape rivers for those who could do the sea travel.
