Trolling Motor Interference

Post by Blinky »

Anyone know how to eliminate interference from a transducer mounted on an Ipilot? Got a dedicated Garmin trolling motor transducer but there's a lot of interference when the Ipilot is running....................

The Ipilot when it is running will give off an electrical field that interfers with the transducer. Also prop tubulance can give interferance. Mount the transducer away from the Ipilot

It's a dedicated transducer made to be mounted on electric motors, just unfortunate there is interference, spoken to heaps of blokes with this type of transducer, some have interference, some don't.........hit & miss.........
Most earth the body of the motor to the start battery, that seems to work.
Just wondering if anyone had other remedies.........

Dicked around with this while out at Yellow Waters, got it displaying perfectly. Mounted the transducer permanently and routed the cable out of harms way.
