New Rod Choice

Post by pmck12 »

Hi Gents,

I just got a Shimano Sargosa 8000 for xmas and am looking for a new rod to match it. Thought it was going to be easy to do this but not so, way to many choices out there.

Anyway I've been looking at the following rods and was wondering what peoples thoughts and choices would be.

Shimano T-Curve Revolution Offshore 661SW Spin,
Shimano TC4 Terez Spin 6'9" Medium or Med/Hvy, or
Daiwa Saltist Demon Blood 64CJ Jig/Spin.

I want to use it as a bit of a multi-purpose rod for simple Spinning for Snapper etc, Trolling, and jigging (knife and lucanus type jigs). I know there are specific rods out there for each specific purpose but I can't justify the cost of buying each one.

I also know that buying a rod is personal preference, but I'm just interested to see what choice people would make if they had the option.

Cheers chaps and good fishing.

Personally I think 6'6 plus rod is to long for a 8000 reel, I would not go longer then a 6 feet rod.

Not on your list but been around for a few years is the tcurve 200 jig stick. ( think I saw one today at BCF for 220 after discount)

Take your reel into the shop mate and she how she feels on different rods. Good luck!
