Solar power

Post by mac10 »

Looking into getting some panels on the roof. Just wondering who the good, bad & ugly suppliers/installers are in town.

I'd like to hear experiences from people who have done it as to what products they've used, how big of a system etc. I basically know nothing about it so all info would be appreciated.

Cheers.

My electrician bro inlaw and I built a 1.6 kw system at Dundee. We purchased 8 x 200 watt panels, all the wiring, solar regulator and 1000ahrs battery bank 4 x260 ahr agm deep cycle batteries. Coupled it to a 5 kw 12v inverter and wired it into the electrical system. We use it when during the day in the wet and both day and night in the dry. Cost us around $4500. I can easily extend the solar panels and battery bank as required.
