Stuart Point Boat Ramp

Post by tony1663 »

I'm after some info and/or pictures of the ramp at Point Stuart near Stuarts Tree Fishing Camp. The only post I can find dates back to 2011 and refers to Poccocks beach launch or is that the same place?

Thanks,

Tony

Cant help you with photos of Stuarts Point ramp BUT can tell you that Pococks Beach is not the same place. Pococks is located further east near the mouth of the Wildman river

Its been a while mate but is only accessible on a reasonably high tide. I'd say 4-4.5m and above. Mud flats from the bottom of the ramp go for a long long way at low tide. Swell can roll in there and be a bit of a pain in the arse sometimes.
Pretty sure Halzy charges about $100 to launch there (not 100% as we used to go out there with a mate that built the ramp and owned the block next door so didn't have to pay)
He also has cabins out there.
Hope this helps a bit....

Stuart tree boat ramp is 80 Kim's from Arnhem hwy turn off.
Road is good at the moment was there 2 weeks ago.
$120 a night for an AC cabin
Ramp is only good on bigger tides above about 4.5m
We find it better fishing morning and night around the bigger tides.
Need to book.
