Considering a Wednesday night fish down there - depends on a few things - mainly how we go out at the bottom of the adelaide tomorrow.
See how things turn out.

Howdy all, has anyone fished manton dam this year??? and if so how'd ya go? I have only fished it once(this year) and it was an arvo after a long day boarding. didnt do to well just a toga a sleepy cod, mind you we wernt trying to hard!
I was watching a video on impoundment fishing yesterday and its got me ge'd up to try get a wopper out of manton. It would be good to get some info off any manton gurus!?!?!?!
Hey Matt i'd be keen on comen down for a fish if you organised one of those manton nights again! when the temp and moon were right of corse. unfortunatly i wasn't a FFF member when you organised the last one. I know a few other boaties that would be in on it to, just an idea anyway!

Yes, so many things to organise for FFF, including a Manton night. Think I'll pick a dark night this time. Will look at the calendar and post shortly.

Hey 2Rods did you manage to get any more info on how the fish were caught (what lures, casting/trolling) and where in the dam itself? Have managed a few barra in the 80's at the rocky points to the left of the ramp but am yet to nail down where the really big fellas hang out.

Cheers,
Travis

No I didn't get any more info out of him  But from the background in the pics I would say they came from up near the wall.

You might have to just go down and troll around till ya find them

If you do go under the rope...and by the book you shouldn't...... please don't move or muck around with the fish net near the wall :bonk: :bonk:

It is there to stop barra from going over the spillway and to a shocking death.

Oh by the way 2 more from there over 1mtr last night I was told :lipsrsealed:

manton

It's a shame the Manton fishos are being secret and not posting a few pix and info because a bit of good news might help keep the NT Government keen about stocking the dam in the first place. I don't see them keeping it secret in Qld dams. And the Manton fish are not the fish anyone takes home to eat.

There's also bigguns coming out of Lake Bennett near the dam wall.

Good on you for reporting the Manton stuff 2rods.

Fished Manton 6 times caught fish 2 out of 6.

Best trip was 3 barra 76cm/92cm/99cm and 4 big hits.

Only ever fish building to full moon at night.

Never caught a fish or had a hit on a surface lure! ever!

Build up is the only time i have caught fish and all have been to hard body lures. My best lures Tilsen and Rapala.

Got the fish only when they came up on the sounder at the 3m mark? if they were deeper they did not seem to want to feed no matter what depth the lures ran at.

I'm a long way from working them out in there.

Still they fight hard and nice place to fish.

Caught my fish near snags and bait schools out towards the middle of the smaller section of dam.
