Re: FFF Seadogs rules update
No sarge, your looking at it all wrong. We make rules so we all play fair and know what is fair!
once you know what is fair then its time to push the boundaries. after all, "you are not living if your not standing on the edge".

Re: FFF Seadogs rules update
Rules update applicable from today ... landbased fish have to be caught from landbased spots readily accessible by road - no landbased fish taken from shore after getting there in a boat can be entered.

Another update, applicable from Round 2 - Landbased registrations may only enter fish that are caught landbased. They may however register a boat at any time during the comp. Owners of registered boats may enter fish they catch landbased, provided it was taken on a landbased trip without the boat, clearly shown by the location photo, at a spot accessible by road.

Seadogs rules update
Entries in Rounds 3 onward have to show picture of fish being held by owner of the registered boat, even if it was caught by a deckie. Pic of both deckie and registered boat owner together with fish is also OK.
All landbased entries from Round 3 onward must have a pic showing the captor holding the fish.

Re: FFF Seadogs rules update
I am thinking about making the remaining Seadogs rounds all barra rounds, but with the Jewfish, Mackerel, Tuna rounds etc having a second species eligible for that particular round.
eg 'Mackerel Busters' round will become 'Barra and Mackerel'.
It's a major change, but a lot of people say they only want to chase barra. And if the weather is poor there might not be many bluewater entries.
I want Seadogs to be multi species tho - this change might please everyone (a miracle!)??
What's the thoughts?

Hi Matt,
I think it should stay as is,The barra boys have had their shot and now its time for the blue water,,the comp is what it is and far too much bitching over rules and changes already.
I joined in because of the multi species ,seamed like a good even playing field as you don,t have to have a big offshore rig to chase Macks ,Tuna and queens even the Billes can be targeted around Fenton and sth gutter.
Good wet ,,Bad wet ,,Good weather,,Bad weather,,Thats fishing !!!

Keep it the same. Makes it more challenging. Even smaller boats have the opportunity to catch good reef and pelagics.

Re: FFF Seadogs rules update
No worries, can keep it the same
Comp has been going well, entries seem to be up on last year despite the poor wet season.
Don't see how it can be too serious Seano, the Nats and the Classic are what I would call far more "serious". They too have had their fair share of BS and bitching over the years.
Most things to do with this comp have been put to the forum first for consideration, people can fish pretty much when they want, how they want, there are good prizes, no stewards on the water ... if it were any more relaxed, it would be asleep ...

Re: FFF Seadogs rules update
Hey Matt for what its worth i think it should stay as it is, for one they were the species nominated at the start that everyone ageed upon and made plans to catch, and two it makes barra fisho's like myself go and target macks, tuna, queenies, billfish 3 of 4 i have never targeted or caught.Anyway theres two more barra rounds later in the year, just my thoughts.
Cheers Trent

Re: FFF Seadogs rules update
Na good comp how it is , a lot people are not big barra fisherman gives them a crack at it with few blue water fish. All i need is mackeral and billfish to migrate into wyndham gulf
All though i Could not see the harm in letting people enter barra in billfish round its the best month for barra australia wide, just seems a bit of a waste
