Trip south 2013

Post by blw »

I went down to nsw in the last two weeks to celebrate my 21st birthday around the eden area. :surf: I cant believe how much ive missed the ocean and got straight into and got a good feed of abalone. On tuesday last week dad and i went deer hunting on a property up in jindabyne. for the day we saw probably 60-70 deer, 15 of which were stags. he set me out on foot and i got got lost for a fair while after losing my bearings following ths stag.

:hunting: :hunting:

Lucky i was in and out of service and could contact dad. So glad to be with telstra. worked out where i was in relation to him and began walking west. on the way back i could hear a deer roaring very close to me, so i moved in for the kill.

i eventually got back to the car and we proceeded to make our way home.

Drove to melbourne to next day to visit the girlfriends family so no hunting or fishing there lol.
Had a bit of a go for some trout in Bombala for not even a touch. :banghead:

Spent the next few days relaxing and had my 21st. All in all a good night with many messy people haha.

Left home at Pambula Beach to head for Bermagui for a landbased fish. We were fishing for bream and flattys using gulp shrimp and ecogear hardbodies. Got a good feed and a bucket full of oysters, the good ones not the crappy pacific oyster they get up here.Dad also hooked something big and was yelling to get the net, i got there to be greeted by a big mullet tail hooked on a hardbody, gave him a lot of stick on 6lb haha.

Heres a few landscape shots, very relaxing being able to actually sit on the edge of the river.

Went up to bombala and got another opportunity to try and knock Matts trout off. Had a few hits on the celta but couldnt covert them to fish. Eventually gave up on lures and used worms the next morning and finally got a monster

Got some good landscape shots as well, which made up for the poor fishing, also saw a few platypus.

All in all great trip home and i ended it with a big feed of oysters kilpatrick with cheese :jester:

Sounds like you had a ball Brent, congrats on your 21st mate.

" YOUTH is a GIFT "
"AGE is an ART "
"Doesn't mean you get any smarter..just wrinkled and cracked".

"No angler watches nature in a passive way...He enters into its very existence." (John Bailey...Reflections on a Waters Edge)

"Govern a Family as you would catch a small fish....Very Gently." (Chinese Proverb)

"Only those become weary of angling who bring nothing to it but the idea of catching fish." (Rafael Sabatini...1857-1950)

I pray that one day God sends me a fish so big that, when talking of it...I have no reason to lie.

crikey, a mixed grill there!

agree on the sitting by the riverbank thing, at least the kids can only freeze to death instead of being eaten by a croc ....
