After such a disappointing effort last weekend, he was determined to remedy that today!
Armed with a swag of new lures, and as keen as mustard, he set a water time of 6am.
With an out-going tide (till 7.30am), I pulled up at a likely spot for a flattie on the way to chase surface fish. Holding the boat in position, Back Cast got a few casts in. 2nd cast, he was on to a good flattie. A few more casts later and not a touch. All he while the birds are going ape-shyte off Umina.
The call was made to pull in and change lures.
We arrived to find birds going berserk, and fish busting everywhere......
This lasted for 3 hours..
Species caught were;
Flathead, Taylor, Mac Tuna, Salmon, Slimy Mackerel, and the biggest Yakkas you have ever seen.
(too many to count – except for the flattie – 1)
Back cast has done a bit of a vid on utube

Anyway, enjoy the photo’s

Nice work fellas. I wish I had weather that good and got some fish like that on Wednesday outside Port Stephens.
