suzuki 140 problems

Post by norubbers »

gidday having trouble with my 2004 suzuki DF 140 randomly during takeoff reves to only 3000-3500 with full throttle and when backed off to nutrel will stall.restart motor and dump in reverse then progress to foward alls is good planning as per usual .fuel prime bulb is full.Have been told that maybe the STATER is on the way out any info if you have had similar troubles would be appreciated. Yes it has been to a repuatable local mechanic and they can find no problem

Never had a suzzi but had a similar issue with a yammie a few years ago ,turned out to be the idle control censor.
Mine reved out to about 3500rpm on take off then stalled when put back to nuetral.

I have seen a number of Suzuki's do this. 90/115/140 put them into neutral turn off and on again and off they go. Apparently a micro switch in the hand throttle which is common to all models.
Has never left us in the poo.

had similar issues on my current DF140. the trottle cables were tripping the nuetral gear switch, which is located in the same area.

might be something to check anyway.
