Too many forums?

Post by Jay Burgess »

Not a major issue just thought I'd point out the fact that I occasionaly find it a little difficult to keep up with all the new content posted at FFF because of the large number of forums, especially when I haven't visited for a couple of days.

Maybe it's just me or maybe I'm being too critical.

Apart from that keep up the good work Matt, especially love the world fishing map.. it's a beaut

Jay

Have to agree but i find that my first port of call is the recent topics area and then i start to go search - dont always get the FRESH sign as jordan loves to check it out so he surfs through it and i have to go searching.
Still a great place to spend some time.

Easy fix here guys just read the forums that interest you.........for example I don't open any of the blue water forums cause that type of fishing does not interest me.

Would be good to have an intro page where you can chose to go to NT, QLD or WA.

You should get this site down in VIC they use fishnet down there heaps and something like this would get heaps of hits, be good for an advertising dollar for you Matt (financial thinking :banghead: Can't get away from it) not to mention the info that can be shared is awesome! Fishnet also takes about 3-4 days to post anything.

I think that simplifying this site would make it more difficult to enjoy in the long run because as more people join many topics will be lumped under basic headings, and it will become harder to keep up with it all.

I will endeavour to keep the site layout as simple as possible. But there will probably be more forums in future as the site grows - I can't see any way around it.

Agreed. One of the main things that lured me to this site was that it was for north australian fishing. Great I thought, now I'll be able to talk to other fishos about fishing tropical australia without all the southern jargon you get on other forums.

I have a shortcut on my desktop that goes straight to "veiw posts sice last visit" so I dont have to look through every forum heading. Saves the download limit a bit and a lot of time.

The site will always have northern Australian fishing and barramundi as the main theme.
