Carbontex Washers?

Post by happy slave »

Hi all, after ignoring fishing 101 and leaving my rod unattended :bonk: and watching it disappear off the cliffs at east point :o and recovering it 5 hours later, luckily enough jammed against some rocks at low tide, my Calcutta is in need of some serious TLC I have stripped it down gone over it with grease and oil, however I now want to upgrade the Drag washers does anyone know of any local supplier of Carbontex washers or any Drag washers for that matter, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Google 'downriggershop'.
Pay $20 via PayPal and they'll send you a sheet of carbontex the size of a business envelope. There is enough material in that small piece to do about 10 or so reels (depending on qty of washers required for each reel).
Use your existing washers as a template and cut out using very sharp scissors. Buy a wad punch kit for the centre hole.
Easy peasy!!
Cheers, Rhet

i got mine from downriggershop.com and did it myself. piece of p..s mate

lubed em up with cals grease (the brown one) and good to go.
When asked by a non-fisherman "how many fishing rods do you actually need?", the correct response is either:
A) n+1 (where n is the number if rods you currently have); or

B) n-1 (where n is the number of rods which would cause your other half to dump you)

Thanks for the heads up on the sheets. I have a couple of reels I haven't been able to get washers for.
