so long as it is managed well and doesn't turn into a free for all i say go for it... what a lot of people don't realise is that there IS a croc cull, that is, any crocs proven to be 'problem crocs' (ie taking livestock, inhabiting tourist areas etc.) are killed by Parks anyway.. why not allow Communities to make a decent buck out of those crocs already culled by allowing trophy hunters? so long as it remains part of the already-managed cull it obviously won't impact on the croc population...
anyway don't forget that the NTG has long advocated croc-culling - its the greenies tugging at the heart-strings of ill informed Federal politicians which is preventing this from happening.. i know its been said before but perhaps if they were pulling 200+ crocs a year out of sydney harbour or lake burley-griffin then maybe southern pollies might recognise what a huge problem we have here!
obviously though its all about striking the right balance - a free-for-all would obviously do a fair bit of harm to the croc population, but protection seems to be doing harm to OUR population! why the federal govt continue to oppose the solution proposed by the nt govt is a complete mystery to me..

I think with the numbers there are, it woont really scratch the surface, espaecailly if they are only goiong to cull small numbers, and this will probably be done on community land where it wont affect the croc numbers in places where people fish and camp.
Cheers,
Brad
