stonker jewies
It’s been nearly 2 years since I’ve had a chance to get close enough to line up a shot on a Jewie.
These bad boys were found snooping around the Medkahuan at high tide recently (can’t spell it……little lone pronounce it we’ve just started calling it the Club Med.). they seamed more focused on cleaning up the bait fish
then to take notice of the lycra clad Homo Erectus trying to catch up to them.
I praise the new bag limits - after an hour of hunting and taking 1 each, we did a few more dives just to get a glimpse of the school ducking and weaving their way through and around the sunken hull. Amazing how dexterous they
are using only the little side fins and a little flutter of the tail fin. No wonder they pull like trains under full power from that fat tail.
Bit spooky on the bottom next to hull lying on its side, very dark but the contrast of the sand next to the growth on the steel made it possible to navigate.
I could see a cloud of tiny glass fish being parted by something coming my way, bum puckers up, what is it?,fight or flight instinct no where to be seen, OMG! I just froze and finally - wheewww! A little cod. I’m outta here while I’m ahead and still have all my limbs.

Re: stonker jewies
Nice one.
Good on you for only taking a couple. 5 each as a bag was a joke. Should be more like 2 per boat now.
poop it doesn't taste THAT good!
Love to see them on a wreck. Might have to start diving again. Would need more than 10 foot of vis to get me in the water though.
Cheers

Thats a beauty BB, I could emagine what would happen if you shot it in the tail.
I was spearfishing off the Gold Coast a long time ago with a mate who speared a big spaniard in the shoulder. He stuck his head up & shouted "I got o-------" The next thing he went past me about 10 foot down with his mask on backwards. LOL

Smile, be happy & go fishing.
Work is getting in the way of my fishing.
My boss says fishing is getting in the way of my work.
I will soon fix both of our problems by quitting.
