MUD you are a crack up . Great read and a good example of thinking out side the square. paul has heaps of sockets so no need to give it back.

Re: Tribute to the Third Best Barramundi Lure ever made!!
Hey Ronje. Thanks for the comment. I know the ones u mean..(combine harvester lol)...I have tried them and seen them work a treat on bass on tv but since I didnt get one first go it ended up rusting on a hook in the shed (I cant cope with delayed gratification). I suspect they would do much the same for barra. Let us know how you go with the spinner....I've used spinner baits for barra in freshwater with success in CQ.
Heya Pesh..we gave our little one a french name in your honour! Admittedly Pascal is a boys name but we try not to be fashionable lol! I am surprised from your comments that I have not yet caught any Pike or Zander on the Barralolly but I will persist and let you know if that changes! Havent had a chance yet to look on the Mepps site but Im sure it will have some interesting stuff to say...If be really keen to know the science behind spinners.Yes I used this type of spinners a lot as a kid.
For Pike and Zanders.
Damn culvert season MP...its all timing and you never know when its just bucketed down at key spots so you just keep going and bl..dy going lol! Im not sure it would go so well in tight quarters. You need a couple of yards to get the action working true but I have had success when I can get a good cast in. Even small bazz and tarpon (tampon) take these things.I can see sales of spinners going through the roof in NT tackle store this week now (if they even stock them?), just in time for the upcoming culvert season!
Thanks seafarer...yup patted her on the back from 6pm last nite till blah oclock..the notion of time is getting fuzzy. Shes a sweetie..great post mud give the little one a pat on the back
Heya PP. A couple of lads have mentioned those here but Ive never heard of them...must have arrived after my time. My biggest redfin went 1.5lb on a mepps from a canoe in Lake Wiritoa in NZ. the bonus of fishing there is that your bycatch are rainbow trout!looks like il be bringing sum ol hogbacks back up from down south around christmas
With you there Seano...when u think they find fish using the whole side of their body thats a pretty big sensory organ to discount in lure design. We just need something from around the house that you could put hooks on that vibrates a lot.....Oh wait!...nah Id get in trouble...Makes you think- maybe vibration is more important than we think
Cheers Saarge..Its Cobes who gets up...I do my shift in the sensible hours. I reckon a trip in to Shady Fresh might be on soon..you up for it?sleepless nights finished already??
Ive got one of those...came in a Kmart pack....I reckon it would work but too hard to harden it up..I used this as a kid and it was really great on Pike
Good greif punter those things are massive! Love red and Blue cod..used to fish for them in the dead of winter...sub zero arctic conditions..oh the fun...even died of exposure once when I fell asleep...well nearlyabout 25-30 cm long
No. Can I have some more?Mud...can I please have my 6mm socket back
What the...theres a whole fishing culture hiding here that Ive never heard of...its like discovering a lost tribe in the amazon....but insted of poison darts they are using wwI spitfire propellers.....Also you can buy willow and colorado blades with a swivel on the front and a small wire spring that you can screw into any soft plastic you want
Check out the link in Banjo's post CS....not sure if the fish chase them or they just chop up the whole school when you drag them through...could you up load a photo banjo?
there there Dick...Im sure there will always be a place in the tackle box for a hardbody...right next to the copper spoon slice and the whale bone hook. Incidently we are having a virgin sacrifice Sat nite if you are interested.Another example of the decay of morals once held dear to all
Ha! I knew this post would bring out all the old sweetwater fisho"s! Good luck AJ and let us know what results u get from the spinners!Tray of redfin/yella spinners (celta's, hogbacks, ondex)
Heya Faulksy. Thats the only problem with this lure...you can only use six sockets from a box....I have five sets all with the same sockets missing!!paul has heaps of sockets so no need to give it back.
Yeah grab some big ones for me Sheebs!I might have to bring back some celtas from Sydney in a couple of weeks.
