NT mud crabs
A note to readers - please note that while mud crabs appear to have been hit hard by commercial crabbers in the Gulf of Carpentaria, there has been excellent crabbing in Darwin Harbour, where there is no commercial crabbing. Nearby Shoal Bay has very little commercial crabbing and has also been fishing well for crabs this year. The NT Govt is currently reviewing the crab industry, although it appears to be making very slow progress.
Matt Flynn publishes the North Australian FISH FINDER biennial fishing map book and writes a weekly fishing report for Darwin's Sunday Territorian newspaper
