What Camera & Lenses do you use ??
I was sorting out my camera bag, as Ive got a new waterproof camera case for taking the camera in the boat.
I bought a Craftsman brand water proof case, its got a O ring seal & two snap locks, great case , the same as, but much cheaper than a Pelican case, got the largest size for less than $200.
I got to wondering what sort of Camera & Lenses everyone else uses ???
I have Sony Aphas, DSLRs, , 1 x A100 & 1 xA550 bodies
Also got a few film SLR bodies, Minolta's X3, 2 x X7.
Lenses are 35/80, 35/105, 75/100, 55/110, 200/400, 28/300, 28/200
Have a couple of Minolta G54 & G32 flashes for the film camers but no flash yet for the DSLR's.

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Nice
I have had a Canon most of my life except for the Box Brownie my Granny gave me 45 years ago!
Now it's a Powershot 10 for a year or so and recently picked up a Canon EOS 60D with an 18-55 and 55-250mm IS Lens
I used to have full access to a 600 1.4 lens a while ago but it was a pain to lug about
I had a 75-300 is that i gave away a few years ago .... doh

Access to a 600 1.4 ......lucky bugger, I know its heavy to lug around but mate waht a lense.
I went to Europe in 1990 to the Belgium Grand Prix , ended up staying with the Brabham F1 Mechanics & the F1 photographers.
Should have seen the gear they had !!!
In practice on the Friday, I was given a Canon with a 70/210 2.8 & was sat behind the armco at the origianl Busstop Chicane with instructions not to look up if I hear a crash coming !!
Got some great shots of cars a couple with all four wheels off the deack after hitting the chicane !!
Got boxes of pics to go through , but I'll find em one of these days !

Re: What Camera & Lenses do you use ??
Here is my list.
Camaras......Sony A700,A550,and A580
Lenses........ Minoltas 50mm 1.7, 35-105mm, 70-210mm f4,and the 300mm 2.8 HS
Tamron 17-50mm 2.8, 18-250mm,and the 90mm macro
Sony 18-55mm (kit lens) and my favourite 70-400g
Flashes I have a sony HVL-F58AM and a sigma140-DG ring flash for macro.
Other gear includes a kenko 1.4 teleconverter ,manfrotto carbon tri pod with ballhead, velbon mono pod,a pair of Leupold 8x40mm binos and a couple of carry bags.
I store my lenses, camaras and binos in a dry cabinet which keeps the gear at a set humidiy so to prevent fungus from ruining them.
Oh did I mention computer, printer and post processing software( adobe lightroom is my favourite), books etc.
So as you can see this is a dangerous hobby as it can turn you into a gear junkie.
Mind you I hate to think of all the fishing gear I have bought over the last 35 years or so.

The most important statement regarding owning a non-waterproof camera in the territory or any other high humid environment.I store my lenses, camaras and binos in a dry cabinet which keeps the gear at a set humidiy so to prevent fungus from ruining them.
I have a Nikon D5000 with a 18-55 and 55-200 lens. Last thing I bought was a graduated filter , really handy for taking landscape pictures when the sky is too bright.
Cheers
Jason

Re: What Camera & Lenses do you use ??
Yeah those F1 and Moto GP photographers have many $000’s worth of equipment hanging off them. I watched one bloke just drop a 600 lens on the ground once at the Eastern creek GP like it was a rubbish bag – I nearly cried. He said that they can cop much worse and still work
The one I had was for work and my excuse was that I needed to learn exactly how to use it.

Re: What Camera & Lenses do you use ??
Jeepers - some pretty serious equipment here and some $$$ involved!!
I am still using my one and only Canon EOS 500D with the twin kit lenses - 18-55 and 55-200. Only just starting to get the feel of the functions now though and will be looking into a course when back home in Melbourne...something I should have done over 18 months ago when I bought the damn thing!!
Will be looking into a 5D Mk II or III soon I'm thinking...
Will be posting some recent Corroboree photos soon here too.

Re: What Camera & Lenses do you use ??
Here's my "list" of cameras
Fuji FinePix 2000 with 15x optical zoom bought for the exorbitant cost of $280
from Malaysia some years ago.
Fuji Fine Pix J28 with an underwater casing for those times when wet weather is expected
The 2000 takes quite nice photos, I personally have never needed expensive cameras and find myself replacing cameras every two or three years. The last one died a salty death after being accidentally dropped overboard at Dinah while retrieving the boat.
But yes there are some pretty flash outfits out there with mega $$$...dont see too many photos from these cameras gracing the pages here
