August NTMAG - Horses from Roper Bar

Post by Matt Flynn »

The August edition includes an exclusive Dr Depth chart of Angler Reef, as well as the Lee Point Artificial Reefs, including the two wrecks at the Rick Mills site which until now have not had GPS positions published.

There are also new charts and sounding screenshots of the Pipeline, Bus Stop and Marchart sites at the Fenton Patches.

There's also charts of the Shady Camp freshwater rockbars - very handy for trolling.

There's a great article about catching horses from Roper Bar; memoirs of Corroboree Billabong when hardly anyone went there; and a story about catching fast-water barra on the Ord River. And much more ...

The index is below, or click here http://www.fishfinderbooks.com/product_ ... cts_id/533

The mag is at Darwin newsagents and tackle shops now, and will be available down south in about two weeks. Subscription orders are now being sent.

Special thanks to all contributors, especially to the FFFers who have jumped in to write their first yarns - the stories coming in are many and varied. This is the 12th NTMAG and the biggest yet.

Another great Mag Matt.

Bullet has inspired me to get my act together over the run off, and plan a ripper trip for the ten days I have off in April.

The Doevys article on Shady fresh was a ripper as I have not fished it before, but am haeding there in a few weeks.

Back casts article on Goose Creek made we want to go back and live on the Tiwis.

It is mostly written by FFFers now - some of the stories by first-time mag writers are as good as you would read anywhere, because the authors are keen and have good stories to tell.

I hope the mag has been a good experience for those involved. A couple of writers have been disappointed because I cut their stories in length, but this happens to almost every story.

Otherwise, all good

Some places in Darwin ran short of mags (long story), apologies if you had to wait, they are topped up again now

I have had some good feedback on the Lee Point wreck maps, I am keen to hear if the Angler Reef chart puts someone onto fish as it came up quite well.

I did some more mapping out wide on the last neaps and found new lumps and bumps in areas I've fished for 20 years.

Ate fish fingers last week though, dunno how that happened, I've got more jewie in the freezer

Any tips for future mags appreciated :fishing:
