Gee you must be tall ryjan
Smile, be happy & go fishing.
Work is getting in the way of my fishing.
My boss says fishing is getting in the way of my work.
I will soon fix both of our problems by quitting.

Re: Massive lizard
I caught a 14lb7oz flatty of the rocks in W.A.
Took it to the local recorder back then Len Vertigan(sp)
Doubled the state record and was just on a meter long
Didn't claim the record, left it for the kids to have a go at
Unfortunately Len was the only one to get a pic of it and I never ended up with a copy
All of the flatty's here are good ones but that one was exceptional for W.A.

Re: Massive lizard
I know 1 was weighed, photographed and release here last week that went 8.3kgs and I seen shot of a 9.2kg last year both massive lizards in any book. If the guy is still around when I get back to work I will asked him what 8.3 went in length and that should give use a sorta weight to length ratio

Re: Massive lizard
Copied this from another austrailian fishing forum, not sure how to post link or if it would stay posted anyway. Do a search with a few keywords on it the story will come out.
Just wondering how big people have seen them.
wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dusky_Flathead) says The current Australian record is held by Alan Strathearn Richmond River NSW 14/7/1983 for 9.440KG
This fish was taken during the Ballina convention of the Australian Anglers Association. It was on the front page of the norther star newspaper locally. I was there, and saw the fish, but alass never got a jernsy into the State Team then or ever.

Re: Massive lizard
If that fish is 180cm that bloke holding it must be about 7ft 6" tall. And to top it off he is holding it out in front of him. Being a fully grown female she should of been returned back into the water so she can keep breeding. Fish for the future !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
