Saw a bit on the ABC years ago where Aussie Army mob were practicing their marksman skills on feral cats. Nothing wrong with that, we shoot wild pigs, horses and donkeys as a method of control.

The poo hit the fan when the camera man got a nice tight shot shot of a cats head disappearing when ol' mates bullet passed through it. I was impressed no end. A few other viewers got a bit squeamish about pussy going poof and complained. Heard they pulled the pin on the training method after that.

Think that was on 60 min. I remember watching that too. Was down Vic maybe, they were destroying to local native bird population in particular the lyrebird (ten cent bird) bl..dy good idea that was, gave the boys in green something real to shoot at instead of paper.

Yeah I remember that well. You’re right about the uproar when they showed the slowmo of the cats head disappearing
Reducing the feral cat population is always a good thing.

shot a nice sized moggy out gun point last weekend, picked up some eyeshine under the flashlight, closer investigation for a small pig it turned out to be a cat, dumb sheeeiiit stood 20mtrs away without moveing whilst i lined him up.

after that i've seen a few getting around, in all my hunting/fishing here over the last 2 years i've hardly seen them or tracks from them, now there poping up everywhere, population explosion? or am i just looking for something now and finding it?

If you want to sail the sea
smack your cat against a tree
stretch him out like an elastic band
use him for a catamaran
