access to Aboriginal lands

Post by Trapper »

The NLC has stepped in & is riding roughshod over all tribal lands North of about Tennant Creek. Many of these areas are sporting signs at the entrances saying a written NLC permit is required to enter for non-indigenous people, or it's a $1000 fine. On looking at the fine print, "Activities: Other conditions point out that the permit does not authorise a range of activities, including taking animals onto the land, cutting down trees, fishing and hunting and carrying firearms." Is it still possible to take part in these activities when the local TO's have OKayed it?

You would need a written letter not just an ok from the locals.
Tight lines 'n' keep the shiny side up people.
