Plate Change for HP Upgrade
Hi All,
I have a contact for someone over west that is a 'surveyor' etc to authorize larger HP etc. I have to send him heaps of pictures and dimensions etc of the boat and transom. I was hoping I could help support someone locally....Does anyone know of anyone that does the plate mods etc to possibly up my motor size....?

I got George from NT Unique to replate my 480 Topender to take a 100hp. Can't remember the exact price, but give him a call and he should be able to help.

Thanks Sharkbait, my hull is the exact same built as all the lengths the builders make for my boat but when I got it they reckon 90 was all they were allowed to put on it... Load of croc, 5mtr Plate alloy, 5mm bottoms and 4 sides with 120l fuel....I know a mate that has the same build and got it replated for a 140, so just looking who can help. Thanks

Sweet there are more people up here than I thought, thanks all will look into it. I want to drop the 'passenger size' also to assist in the HP upgrade.

Re: Plate Change for HP Upgrade
Barney I used a bloke from QLD called Nick Lockyer. It was a simple process and cost around $300-$400 from memory. The reason I used him was because IAOBM would not sell me a bigger engine unless the re-rating was done by him for their insurance reasons (they wouldn't accept any of the locals builders plates, don't ask me why). His website is here http://www.kpsmaritime.com.au

Thanks mate! surely a dealer should be selling you what you want, no matter... isnt it just an insurance thing at the end of the day.maxpower wrote:Barney I used a bloke from QLD called Nick Lockyer.
