g'day Matt,
Just watched the new DVD today and was impressed. I am sure some of the newer barra fishers will get heaps out of it. As for me I got a few larfs when barrabeast pointed or should I say propelled the nasty end of a croc at ya

On the next one can you add more fishing footage at the end??

I will recommend it to the newbies

yep 2rods, working on the extra footage. It's been a frustrating 2 years trying to get good stuff on film, sometimes it's too dark or the fish were too quick for us. ie I caught a metre fish just after dark at sampan, leaped all over place for ages, but couldnt see it properly on the camera. Also, Matt :bonk: in his overwhelming professionalism ran out of tape as as a 98cm stonker charged all over the river, leaping right next to he boat, and for the first time, I wasnt searing on film, get the f***ing net!!.

so it's all a bit tricky when the fish arnt cooperating.

ps glad you like the film. you can be in the next one if you send us the footage.

Hi Peter,

You should be able to get it at your local tackle shop - if not let me know and I will find out why they don't have it,

Matt,
I received my copy last week and found it very informative, well done to all involved.
Are you intending to bring out another with some more advanced techniques including knots etc?
Cheers

matt,

just some feedback IMHO on any videos you may have in the pipeline...

i reckon you would smash it if you produce a video/s showing techniques for catching barra and other fish in well-known spots that are in your FF Mag.

e.g.

a section on shady barrage...what types of lures, things to look for etc film your techniques...even if the fish arent there.

adl river...beatrice, last cast, donalds etc

shoal bay...livebaiting the rock, or trolling king creek

there is a plethora of good spots within your book, and some of those spots turned into 15 minute segments of film would be a good watch.

just my thoughts...
Cheers

Great idea KK, I have been doing just that, collecting footage at different places. It's time-consuming though, and sometimes the fish know the camera is there and are a bit shy

yeah, sounds good Matt.

I dunno much about film making, but simply talking to the camera and talking about the types of tactics you would use to catch the fish would sell plenty.

e.g trolling king creek...

intro about the types of tides you are looking for, what time of the year etc
show the type of lure you are using, why you are using it, how far back from the boat, what action you want to put on it etc
sounder...what depth, bumping bottom etc.

then just get a big stonker on...well that would get me giving up a few beer tickets.
Cheers
