Line stripper

Post by tikety »

Gday bit of spare time we made a line stripper to empty old line off the reel, we used an old 60mm holesaw cut to suit an old spool and fitted to the holesaw arbour the old drill bit was replaced with 6mm round bar with a nut to tighten the spool.
Throw it on the cordless and away you go. Next project something similar to attach to the reel for re spooling.
Any comments questions or thoughts for improvements welcome.

My mate down home in WA had a steel rod which had a rubber wheel attached too the end of it,stuck that in drill press, would use it too fill our alvey spools(takes a long time filling 1000 mtrs of line by hand),sit the alvey spool on a shaft in the vice, run the spool against the rubber wheel an hey presto job done.

For stripping i just put a bolt through a coke bottle lid, lock it down with the nut and bang the thread in the drill chuck and screw the coke bottle back on.
