Retro barra

Post by Kimberlite »

Here is a fish that my old man caught in 1977 on the East when I was just a sprog.

Check out the fashion statements!!!!

We were on a 4 month WA/NT trip with a 2 month stopover at Kalumburu Mission in the Kimberley where he rewired the power station.

Dad and my uncle went downstream for the day, not sure where and he caught this baby on my retro kiddie Kmart rod (remember the old yellow fibreglass blanks with the coiled wire as guides?)

This old girl went 145cm and 64lb weighed at the Crossing Inn. Fed every person camped on the banks of Cahills for days.

Great pic, love seein this stuff from years gone by, reminds me of the era of some of my dads photos.
Especialy those shorts on the right got to get me a pair of them..??
Not detracting from the quality of the fish though, awesome..!!

Great pic!

This lead to what I find scary about digital photography nowadays, people don't take as much care of their photos as they use to in these time.
So I believe that many of the photo that we make today will be lost (deleted or unreadable) by the time they get as old as this one.
So our kids wont be able to have a good laugh or marvel at those "treasures" from the past...

But I am getting of topic there, sorry for that.
It is a great pic which I am sure carry a lot of good memories.

And a real good fish too!

Have a good day,
Pecheur

She was taken on the old classic, a brown Nilsie invincible.

I have a couple more good pix with the lure in its gob (cavern) so when I find them I will post em.
