Re: New! The Metre Barra Club
Went for a look with a mate on Friday, pretty slow day only landed 8 Barra, but got onto this big girl.
118cm, she swam off strongly which was good. Best Barra for me so far this year.

Re: New! The Metre Barra Club
Well done to all those that hit the magic 1000mm and over, some ripper fish pics in this thread, I'm still trying my hardest to reach that milestone.
2 years livin in Airlie, fishing Prossy River & Dam.
11 years in Rocky fishing the Fitzroy, Port Alma & Awoonga.
3 trips to the Western Cape York rivers.
My PB 900mm in Faust Dam back in the late 90s before anyone ever here'd of it.
Here's hopin that with some of the great tips on this site and the predicted good season ahead for the Fitzroy & Delta I might just crack it soon.
Cheers.

Yep, there have been some crackers
Been a bit quiet this year on the horse front although I've been emailed a couple of stonkers that are in the next mag.
Hopefully a big wet season on the way.

Wow - 500? Jeeze.darwinguy wrote:Sasa23 Hang in there, I had caught well over 500 hundred odd barra over 7 odd years before I got my first one.

I think I have only caught around 15 fish. With most under 50cm. And I've been fishing for them for 16 years now, that's less than1 fish per year. I fish about 14hrs a week on average, so when you break it down to fish per/hr that's 776 hours per Barra. Seems I have a long way to go. Eeek!!
Got any tips for a padawan learner?
