Barraboss...while not encouraging anyone to neck meteries will nilly some people see a metery necked something akin to murder ...how many tens of thousands of meteries and barra in general die each year due to natural fishkills, how many are taken by crocs/sharks, die of disease etc...and we are still caching plenty of meteries - soon to improve even more with the Bynoe/Finniss River closures.
So your contribution to extinction of barra is but slight..

nah grumpy, it was at the Finniss but i know the lake you are talking about, i have done patch work with a dozer on that barage and its good fishing when all the bara get stuck in there after the wet, very very very good fishing. also airboated to that barrage in the wet when the barrage breaks, fishing that flowing water is good fishing also. have only ever seen one boat push up to it from the mouth though, was a big boat too, buot 5 or 6m. Christ knows how they got up as far as they did.

Good work FishFanatic
Amatuers call bl..dy murder when in comes to the Pro's in Fogg Bay and finally the Government listens to us. And then within a month of the closure happening we have an amatuer fisherman parading a valuble breeder which was one of the main points of conjecture with the pro's. Your reply shows the reasons why the amatuer fisherman of the NT have such a small political voice. All the meteries die of fish kills, shark attacks and other natural causes? How about as a group we should look at things we can affect rather than cast blame on everything else. If everyone is still catching plenty of meteries why was is so important to close Fogg Bay??? We can't have it both ways.

MUD. that barrage is on private property with only a fence line track to it in the dry, will kill any toyota haha poop its a rough drive, best bet is to atack it from the coast if you dont know the land owners, as i said previously i have only ever seen one boat there in the years i have fished it, but that tells me its possible to get to from the coast. Give it a bash this wet, its a good spot.
