Yep, looks like Blackfellow Creek to me, bwahaha
Helluva a lot of meteries out of the Roper this year, hasn't been this good for big fish for four or five years.

Re: 131cm barramundi from Roper coast
I was going to say Blackfella creek in my post on page 2 of this topic, at the time tho the fishermen were talking in circles and I didn't want to spoil it for them as they were going out of their way the keep it elusive, "the Roper it self was very unproductive".
I don't know any creek as big as in the footage between the Roper & the Rose!
We are all fishermen & still a rippa fish.

Re: 131cm barramundi from Roper coast
ronje, I think you will find it was Blackfella creek the barra was caught at.
My comment about the size of the creek was more to do with the Roper its self, none of the background in the pic looked to be "ocean". As the story said coastal creek, the pic showed a large water system.
There are many creeks bigger than Blackfella along the coast, "spillens" for 1.

Re: 131cm barramundi from Roper coast
Sorry Hobbsy
U're right.
That u-tube shot is in the Roper River at the mouth of Blackfellow looking upstream.
As the camera panned to the right momentarily, u can see a very quick shot of Blackfellow Ck mouth going back at the right angle upstream.
Lot of big fish "tail" at that spot. When hooked they run upstream towards the big mud bar that extends out from the upstream point.
Baitfishing brother caught a rod, reel and lure there along with a folded chair still in its cover. Hooked something else which slipped off. Sounds like a boat came to grief on that upstream point. No corrosion, mud or anything so must have happened not long before we got there (month or less).
