South gutter sail

Post by 2rods »

Went to south gutter today with AM for a look. Early on we got a few macs then bottom fished for a while.

On the way in at around 12 we dropped the teasers and pushers out the back. 10min later I spotted a fish next to my pusher!!!!! So I grabbed the rod and jigged the push a few times and the sail grabbed it..........

It didn't go as hard as the ones in WA last year but I was happy.... After a short fight I landed my first sail on a skirted lure.... We took a few pics and sent it back to make someone elses day.

I will post some pics when I work out how to do it from my phone!

Thanks to AM for a great day.... Pitty the 3rd party couldn't make it !! Maybe next time ghound??

Trick questions, how fast do you cruise on the way out there and how long does it take? I've got a 4.5m plate boat with a 75 4St - am I dreaming?

No Pete you're not just pick your weather. I know a guy that gets out North Gutter in a 13 footer but he is a little keen....

Yeah bottom bouncing was a bit of a washout Doug but it was a nice morning on the water thats for sure plus a few fish when we were having a tow around to top it off. It was getting time to burn off a bit fuel or get it out of the tank anyway.
