nth gutter marlin wooo hoooooo!!!!

Post by harmsey »

Well what started out as a day that we were gunna head over to Mica Beach for a BBQ and a few drinks ended up as a day Im sure I will never forget :smoking: .
We hit Nightcliff boat ramp at 10am with the whole family my Mum and Dad, Helen and baby Katie. The water was glass, with not a breath of wind. So I made the decision to head out wide 8-) . It was that nice that we ended up at North Gutter in under an hour and gave the bottom a quick bash. :fishing: Not much doing, just a few redfish and a couple trevally.
I could see some birds working in the distance so we rigged up some trolling lines and went for a troll. 15mins into the first troll the old man screams “Im onâ€Â

Nice fish (and GC's sail) pity you had to put up with those shocking ocean conditions :catch:

Well done guys  Great report/pics. Not often the weather calms down for the weekend like this is it. Wish I was out there too after hearing that report. Might be hard to top that trip for a while but you never know do you.

I contend that where you fish is the
most important factor in catching fish.

Well you guys have inspired me. The fly rods have been pushed aside and trolling gear brought out. Myself and Jordan are looking at pushing wide in the morning now.

Saileys and Macks beware. Jordan has a new Rod and is wanting to get it dirty.

About time you had some real good fortune Harmsey after all the troubles you've had with the boat - great that it was with the family too.

I will give the story a good run in the paper next Sunday - it's great news for everyone - it should get a few people out there trolling with renewed inspiration.
