Thanks for the info Nogood, :clap: this is a good example of the intent of this thread. Yeah ok, it's a pretty safe bet that there were going to be fish hanging around the long lost marks but having confirmation of this is a great confidence booster for those starting out for the season.

Sounds like Switch baiting will be the go at the moment then if the Mackies are thick as well.

We didn't see a fish at long lost last year this was a first for us

Haven't been doing to bad over this way, over the last 4-5weeks we've managed to get out at least once a week and have seen a fish each trip, with a 85% catch rate.

Have heard a few reports of marlin up to 130kg and as low as 3kg. As well as doubles of sailfish. Although our season may be coming to an end soon, i hope to get out another couple times before the end and finally get my first marlin

Blacks show a distinct preference for swimbaits versus skipbaits if this helps your cause at all. Good luck! :mrgreen:

spent the weekend fishing Dundee fished bowra wide and witches nose all day Saturday 0/0/0 a new game plan was to head out to sail city
sunday raised first fish at 10.30 put the gear back in had one come state up but no go next fish at 11.30 not as big as the first but sail all the same no bait to be seen

Good effort mate ,,we hit the same spots for zip ,but it looked like it would fire on sunday bait schools and birds every where

Jiffish we could not find bait at all on Sunday just small school of flying fish I think that's what they were eating

Went 1-1-0 at north gutter on Sunday morning, not a lot of bait around.

we come across this flock about 80 or so but not a stickfish in sight.
