Nice black from a 4.45 hornet
A long time between posts but here goes went out yesterday morning to skip a couple gars by myseif around for sail or two as this time of year they are just outside the harbour. On the water about 06.30am it did not take long to find some nice bait balls and birds working them in 22meters of water things with looking good but after 2.5hours of my baits and rigs getting cut up by mack's and i have to be back in by 10.00am it look like i was going miss out on a billie. Then black shape came up behind the teaser and then it switch over to the gar. I teased it with gar for a few second before letting it have it. Free spool it for about ten second and brought up the drag level to strike but it felt like i hook a piece of seaweed because it swam straight to the boat. There was a very green fish 2 meters from the boat for about 10 to15 second before taking to the air after about 35mins and a lot of air time before i had the leader in my hand and my phone trying to take snap shoot .( great time to leave your camera and gimbul at home) the fish weighed about 60-70kgs and over 2meters to bottom jaw. I have a few photos from my phone i we try and resize them and up load them soon

Or an unreliable worker that is always on the turps and consistently ducking out for a fish.

By the way fly 2 metres to the tip of the bottom jaw is approx 75kg according to the maths.
